WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR
.~  We have a new Emcee - Vickie Almond
.~  Your information will be read aloud at the reviewing stand as you pass by,  based on what you submit.  Not otherwise.
.~  Each participant will receive at sign in (the day of the Parade) a map with landmarks showing exactly where you are to line up - This should help
eliminate the confusion as to where you are to go to get into the line up.

What's, When's, Where's and How's of participating in the Reisterstown Festival Parade in 2011.

...                      WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY  -  SEPT 4

~  Step 1 - Look on this "Master List" above first for your unit number and staging area.

~  Step 2 - Look at your designated "Staging Area Details" below and the associated map.  Print it!
...........         Note the specific Trees, Lights, Signs that are next to your location.  You will also receive a copy of
...........         the location map, your unit number and any Parade Day instructions at the registration table.  

~  Step 3 - To the left of each of the "Staging Area Details" below for each location is a printer icon.  Select this icon
...........         and a PDF version of the instructions will appear.  Please print it out for your use and pass copies
...........         around to your group as needed.  This feature will be available on Tuesday Sept 6th so that everyone
...........         will have the most current information available.

~  Step 4 -  Designate someone from your group to be the one to go to the registration table in your assigned
...........         staging area and sign in and pick up your unit number package and instructions.  Please only send
...........         one person to do this task so the process can flow quickly.  If at all possible arrange for the
...........         designated person to be a passenger if approaching the registration table in a vehicle so that you
...........         do not have to actually park the car to sign in.  We can not block any areas as to prevent others from
...........         lining up.  

~  Step 5 -  
Be aware and pass the word to your group before you show up on Sept 10th that any unattended
...........         parked vehicles interfering with the line up formations may be subject to being cited, ticketed or
...........         towed at owners expense.    If you are asked to move your vehicle for any reason by one of our official
...........         parade lineup coordinators you must comply.  No exceptions.  Other then the parade units themselves
...........         the Harvestview Road and Village Center Roads are a NO PARKING at all times type of road.

...             WHAT TO EXPECT AND DO ON PARADE DAY
...                                  SATURDAY  -  SEPT 10

~  Participants must have a representative sign in at the registration table the day of the Parade as soon as you
......    arrive.  To help make it easier for you it is recommended that you have a designated person assigned to this
......    task and coordinate accordingly.  

~  Tables will be open at 7:00am.  Please try and register as close to 7:00am to 7:30am as possible to give
......    plenty of time to get all units lined up and resolve any issues before we start. Only one person per unit need
......    register on parade day.

~  The will be a registration table at Franklin Elementary School and another at Harvestview Road.  
......    See staging area maps below.

~  Marching Bands are the
only exceptions from having to report to the Registration Table and from having to
......    display their unit number.

~  If you are also a Vendor at the Festival you will be given a special Vendor parking pass at the registration table
......    as part of your Parade Unit Number package.  You must complete the Parade route in its entirety before
......    going into the festival grounds.  
...   CRITICAL POINTS TO BE AWARE OF DURING THE PARADE

~  1.  The Reviewing / Judges stand will be on your left (Drivers side of vehicles) near the later part of the
......          Parade route.

~  2.  If you are being judged for any category at all you MUST display your given number so that it can easily
......          be seen from the left side of the road.  

~  3.  There will be a "Spotter" across from the Reisterstown United Methodist Church building.  This spotter is
......          looking for your displayed assigned unit number.  This ensures that the order of the brief resumes of
......          each unit as you have submitted them will be read in the correct order as units approach the
......          Reviewing / Judges stand.   If you fail to show your unit number at this point you "MAY" be disqualified
......          from any trophies or awards.

~  4.  The 3 critical points your assigned number needs to be prominently displayed, is in the staging area up to
......          the starting line, at the "Spotters" post across from the Reisterstown United Methodist Church building
......          and when approaching and passing the Reviewing / Judges stand.  It is strongly
......          recommended that you display your unit number AT ALL TIMES.  Vehicles are recommended to display
......          on the front window drivers side, left corner of window safely so driver can still see or on the right side
......          of vehicle driver door or forward of that point.

~  5.  The parade finish line is NOT IN FRONT OF McDONALD'S!  Anyone who stops or disbands in this area of
......          the street MAY be disqualified from any trophies or awards.  ALL units will continue with the parade up
......          to the TRAFFIC LIGHT at the intersection of Reisterstown Road / Reisterstown Shopping Center
......          and Franklin High School.  There will be parade personnel to assist as to when to disband so as not
......          to hold up the flow of the parade behind you.

~  6.  No Stopping in front of the Judges / Reviewing stand to show off.  All performing must be done while still
.... .          moving forward as you normally would along the parade route.  
......          Stopping to perform will disqualify you from any awards.
